Hornets Lose Critical Game to Bulls, 108-91

The Charlotte Hornets dropped their second game in a row with a loss to the Chicago Bulls 108-91 Thursday night.

The Hornets got off to a rough start against the Bulls defensively. They allowed the Bulls to start off the game on a 10-0 run. Charlotte’s offense never really came through for them.

Miles Bridges and Devonte Graham kept Charlotte in the game in the first half. Bridges scored 11 points and Graham had 13. Bridges showed off his 3 point range hitting 3 of his 6 attempts. He also had a spectacular dunk over Nikola Vucevic.

Terry Rozier was cold in the first half, hitting 2-8 from the field. His lack of aggression hurt the Hornets offense, especially because of their limited options. The Hornets were down at half-time by 14 points, 44-58.

The 3rd quarter was the Hornets downfall. The Bulls were able to go on an 18-2 run, which really impacted the Hornets on both ends of the floor. The Hornets’ confidence seemed to wane and they couldn’t get anything going offensively or defensively. Vucevic and Coby White were able to score with relative ease and put the Hornets away at the end of the 3rd quarter, down 21 points.

The final quarter proved to be mop-up duty and the Bulls went on to put the game out of reach. Vucevic scored 18 points and had a season high 16 rebounds. Thaddeus Young and White also added 18 points each. Devonte Graham led Charlotte with 16 points and Miles Bridges had 13 off the bench.

Charlotte doesn’t have the fire power to keep themselves in contention for a play-off spot. This was a very disappointing loss. The Hornets take on the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday, which is a critical game for them if they want to keep hope alive.
