After the early-season upsets from week one, UConn’s Paige Bueckers and Maryland’s Shyanne Sellers will go head-to-head tomorrow night at Harry A. Gampel Pavilion.
The UConn women’s basketball team fell six places in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll. The No. 8 team took a surprising loss against then-unranked NC State, 92-81; almost a week after dominating Dayton, 102-58.
Although the Huskies lost, they’ve been ranked for 566 consecutive weeks- tying them with Tennessee for the longest streak ever.

Maryland women’s basketball is looking to bounce back going into tomorrow night’s game after their 114-76 loss against South Carolina.
Shyanne Sellers led UConn with 21 points from Sunday’s game. Although the leading scorer had eight rebounds, three assists and two steals, she couldn’t keep up with the Gamecocks.
“Obviously, they are able to stretch the floor a little bit more,” Sellers said.
South Carolina shot 50% from the three and the Terps were out-rebounded 53-33. With eight of South Carolina’s players being six feet or taller, Maryland wasn’t matching their depth to prevail in Sunday’s game.
Paige Bueckers is making her third-game appearance after almost 600 days of not playing with UConn due to a torn ACL. The AP preseason All-American scored 27 points, three rebounds and had three assists during the Huskies’ loss to NC State.
Sellers exited the South Carolina game early due to an injury, so there’s a chance she may not be on the court, but Maryland’s, Bri McDaniel, is an effective option off the bench. She finished Sunday’s game with 10 of the 19 bench points.
The Terps will be traveling for the non conference game and tip off is at 6:30 p.m.
