The Chicago Cubs are in Atlanta for a Monday matchup with the Braves tonight.
The game’s two starting pitchers have a combined ERA of 1.31.
Chicago will be starting rookie Shota Imanaga. He currently leads the MLB with a 1.08 ERA. He’s yet to lose a game this season, posting a perfect 5-0 record as of tonight’s game.
Atlanta will start veteran Reynaldo López. He’s cut his career ERA of 4.18 down to 1.53 this season and comes into tonight’s game with a 2-1 record on the year.
Embed from Getty ImagesThe Braves will face Imanaga with a Ronald Acuna whose stats have regressed from his 2023 NL MVP campaign. His batting average, on base percentage, and slugging percentage have all taken a dip since last season.
Marcell Ozuna has been the one leading the Braves’ offense this season. During yesterday’s game he became the fastest player to 40 RBI since Hank Aaron.
Atlanta will also face Imanaga without the services of their all-star third baseman Austin Riley. He won’t be suit up after leaving Sunday’s game against the Mets with left side tightness. Riley is tied for third on the team with 18 RBI’s this season.
