Despite missing Forward Erling Haaland

Manchester City were still able to get on the scorecard with a goal from Nico Gonzàlez near the end of the match(90+2’).

Haaland, who scored both goals in City’s 3-2 home defeat in the first leg, suffered knee pain in Saturday’s 4-0 win over Newcastle United.

Mbappe, who scored his first hat trick at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium and is now the fourth player at Real Madrid to score a hat trick in a knockout game joining Ronaldo Nazario, Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema.

“Those three guys are legends. I hope I can also leave a mark here, and that’s why I am here. But let’s take it step by step.”

“The first step is now; we’re in the round of 16, and we’re going to play to win every possible title this season.”

Mbappe emphasized that he could play all three attacking positions mid-fielder, winger and striker.

For his second goal(33’), Mbappe dropped Josko Gvardiol inside the box before finding the back of the net with a slightly taken shot. His third goal (61’) the Frenchmen shot with his left foot in style putting the ball past Ederson.
