Former Seattle Seahawks defensive back Richard Sherman was arrested Saturday morning for allegedly driving under the influence, arrest records indicated.
King County jail records stated that Sherman was arrested by the Washington State Patrol and booked in the early morning hours.
The state patrol confirmed the arrest to Fox 13 in Seattle, but according to the outlet, the King County Prosecutor’s office has not been sent charges in the case.
In a probable cause statement, trooper Jordan Hazzard-Thomas, who aided in response to the traffic stop, reported having a dialogue with Sherman and noticing “the odor of intoxicants” and that Sherman’s eyes appeared to be “bloodshot and watery.”
At this time it is not clear what led to the arrest.

The matter was settled in March 2022 when Sherman pled guilty in Seattle to two misdemeanor charges. He also admitted to a criminal infraction of speeding in a roadway construction zone.
“I’m grateful for the community we have and the way people continue to accept you even though you’re a flawed human being and made a mistake,” Sherman said in court after his plea, according to the Associated Press.
Sherman spent seven seasons in Seattle before moving on to the San Francisco 49ers for three. He also played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and during his college years at Stanford University.
Sherman, a three-time All-Pro cornerback, had an 11-year NFL career and helped lead the Seahawks to a Super Bowl title during the 2013 season against the Denver Broncos.
One of the top defensive standouts of his era, he was named in 2020 to the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s All-Decade Team of the 2010s. He also earned five Pro Bowl nods while also being named an All-Pro five times.
He has worked as a pre and postgame analyst for Prime Video’s “Thursday Night Football” since 2022 and as a panelist on FS1’s “Undisputed” after taking the role last summer.
