Fueled by a nine strikeout evening from Chris Sale, the Atlanta Braves shut out the Chicago Cubs 7-0 yesterday at Truist Park. This marks Atlanta’s sixth win in seven games.
Cubs starting pitcher Jameson Taillon came into the game with an undefeated 3-0 record. The Braves ruined that record all at once by scoring 7 runs in the bottom of the 4th inning, including a three-run homer by all-star first baseman Matt Olson.
Olson’s stats have seen a significant uptick as of late.
When asked about his recent hot streak, Olson said calming down has been the key.
“I’ve just been grinding out there a bit, started getting uptight,” Olson said. “Sometimes you have to just relax a little bit and trust it out there.”
