Fever Exercise Option to Keep Boston Through 2026

The ‘Boston Tea Party’ is staying in Indiana.

The Indiana Fever are entering into the 2025 WNBA season as one of the few title favorites.

Indiana is led by a fierce trio made up of All-Stars Caitlin Clark, Aliyah Boston, and veteran Kelsey Mitchell, a group that helped the Fever reach the playoffs for the first time since 2016 last season.

The Fever concluded the season with a 20-20 record, having been vanquished in the WNBA playoffs in the first round by Alyssa Thomas and the Connecticut Sun.

As they do everything they can to reach the mountain top and have success in the postseason and improve in 2025, the Fever made the easy decision to exercise Boston’s fourth-year option on the rookie scale contract.

Boston has played two seasons with the Fever after being selected with the No. 1 overall pick out of the University of South Carolina in the 2023 WNBA Draft and was the unanimous selection as WNBA Rookie of the Year.

Last season the 6’5 center, posted averages of 14.0 points, 8.9 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game, leading the Fever in average rebounds. She backed up a strong rookie campaign. During her rookie season with the Fever in 2023, Boston recorded 14.5 points, 8.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game.

The Fever have now taken the extra mile in ensuring Boston’s long-term future with the franchise. They have a solid core to build on, led by Boston and Clark, both of whom are young and early into their WNBA careers and have already established themselves as All-Star caliber players. Clark took home Rookie of the Year honors in 2024.

Indiana also added a couple of intriguing weapons during the 2025 offseason, such as All-Star DeWanna Bonner.

The All-Star center was certainly the biggest acquisition of the offseason, but the Fever also bolstered their depth, welcoming Jaelyn Brown, Sydney Colson and Sophie Cunningham.

Indiana opens their season on May 17 against Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky.
