Charlotte — The Charlotte 49ers have announced that they have scheduled a home-and-home football series with NC State for 2030 and 2031. The 49ers will travel to NC State, Sept. 7, 2030 to open the series and the Wolfpack will return a trip to Charlotte, Sept. 6, 2031.
“This is another fantastic home-and-home series for the Niners,” said Director of Athletics Mike Hill. “We strive to schedule games which will excite our fan base, and playing the Wolfpack certainly qualifies. It’s an easy road trip for both programs and will be a really tough ticket.”
The NC State series is the third home-and-home series that Charlotte has scheduled with an ACC opponent. The 49ers travelled to Duke, Oct. 31 of this year and the Blue Devils will be coming to Charlotte to open the 2021 season, Sept. 4. Charlotte will also play a series with North Carolina. The 49ers will play at Chapel Hill, Sept. 7, 2024 while the Tar Heels will head to Charlotte, Sept. 6, 2025.
Other upcoming home-and-home series include Maryland (2022; 2023), East Carolina (2024; 2025), Ole Miss (2026; 2027) and Appalachian State (2026-2030). The 49ers also have three games remaining on a four-game series with Georgia State (2021-2023). The first game of that series, scheduled for this season, was postponed due to the pandemic.
