The Charlotte Hornets have another hurdle to overcome. Miles Bridges, who’s having a spectacular season, is expected to miss the next several games because of the NBA’s health and safety protocols. It begins with Tuesday nights’ contest against the Detroit Pistons.
Over the last six games, Bridges has been averaging over 21 points per game and 12.4 for the season. He also has been crashing the boards, collecting 6.1 rebounds. He’s been getting his teammates involved, handing out 2.2 assists per game. Bridges has been showing off his athleticism with some posterizing dunks.
This is the latest in a slew of injuries and other issues the Hornets have had to endure this year. LeMelo Ball (wrist) and Malik Monk (ankle) just made their return on Saturday in a win against the Pistons. Gordon Hayward has been out over a month with a severe foot injury. P.J. Washington will miss Tuesday nights’ game due to personal reasons.
Bridges not being able to play, hinders what the Hornets can do going forward in their Eastern Conference playoff hopes. The Hornets’ bench will have to step up and have a next man up mentality.
