Hubert Davis announced on 97.9 The Hill, that Brandon Robinson will be joining the UNC coaching staff as a grad assistant. Robinson was a freshman on UNC’s 2017 national championship team and came off the bench, until his senior season (2019-2020). As a starter Robinson averaged 11.8 points, 3.2 rebounds per game, and shot 37.3% from behind the arc.
Embed from Getty ImagesHubert Davis made it clear at his introductory press conference that he wanted his coaching staff to consistent of former UNC basketball players. The North Carolina coaching staff includes; Jeff Lebo, Sean May, Brad Frederick, Jackie Manuel, Pat Sullivan, and Eric Hoots.
This is the second coaching milestone for the Tar Heels this offseason. In April Hubert Davis became the first African-American head coach in UNC history, and Brandon Robinson will be the first ever graduate assistant to join North Carolina’s coaching staff.
