He could hardly walk on Sunday, then yesterday it was better to where he could do light jogging spot shooting but he couldn’t even do contact to five on five. He looked great to start the game he’s such a difference maker. He’s resilient. He’s been a guy since day one this summer it hasn’t been smooth sailing for him and he’s had his ups and downs and he’s taking coaching every step of the way. He continues to work and he just wants to win and so I thought you saw that tonight and they had had to change their defense because of him.”
Scheyer reflected on the victory over Notre Dame and Coach K’s return appearance in Cameron Indoor Stadium.
“I’m proud to get this win their is a lot to learn from but I’m happy to beat a good Notre Dame team, who’s really dangerous and capable of beating anybody.”
“It was awesome having him. We talked during preseason when are going to come to a game and for him to be here tonight was special for me, to play in so many games with him right next to me. I don’t know how he felt sitting in the stance instead of the bench. His support has been incredible throughout this entire process. I just wanted make sure we got the win while he was here.
