NBA Trade Deadline

• Mavericks Reportedly Trade for Hornets P.J. Washington
The Mavericks continues to bolster their frontcourt for the stretch run of the 2023-24 season.

According to multiple reports, the Mavs are finalizing a deal to acquire Hornets forward P.J. Washington from the Hornets for Grant Williams, Seth Curry and a first-round pick. Besides this move, the Mavs are also working to finalize a trade for Wizards big man Daniel Gafford.

The Hornets has been one of the most active teams in trades this season, which is no surprise given the team’s state of affairs with new ownership and their unacceptable 10-40 record. Earlier on Thursday, the Hornets agreed to deal veteran and injury prone Gordon Hayward to the Oklahoma City Thunder, which came weeks after the team dealt guard Terry Rozier to the Miami Heat.

• Nets Add Schroder in Deal with Raptors
The Brooklyn Nets have agreed to acquire point guard Dennis Schroder and 17-year veteran forward Thaddeus Young in a deal with the Toronto Raptors, per multiple reports. The Raptors will receive Spencer Dinwiddie.

Brooklyn parts ways with Dinwiddie for the second time, who reportedly has been frustrated with his role or lack thereof on the team. Schroder, a 30-year-old floor general who hails from Germany, was in his first season with the Raptors and averaging 13.7 points, 6.1 assists and 2.7 rebounds over 51 games. Both Schroder and Young bring veteran and playoff experience to Brooklyn (20-30) as they look to stay in the Play-In race.

• Bucks Add Beverly in Trade with 76ers
A pair of championship hopefuls in the Eastern Conference, the Milwaukee Bucks and Philadelphia 76ers, are reportedly swapping backup guards. Per multiple reports, the 76ers have dealt guard Patrick Beverley to the Bucks for Cameron Payne and a second-round pick.

Milwaukee went through its biggest overhaul of sorts at the end of January when they relieved coach Adrian Griffin of his duties just after 43 games on the job and a 30-13 record and hired Doc Rivers to fill that role. The Bucks (33-18) were among the leaders in the Eastern Conference before that trade as the No. 3 seed.

He will slot in behind All-Star guard Damian Lillard as his No. 1 backup as Milwaukee tries to close the gap between themselves and the East-leading Boston Celtics (39-12) and No. 2-seeded Cleveland Cavaliers (33-16).

• Knicks Get Bogdanovic, Burks in Swap with Pistons
The New York Knicks are striking while the iron is hot, gearing up for what they hope will be their first championship in 51 years with a major trade.

New York has added veteran sharp shooter Bojan Bogdanovic and Alec Burks from Detroit and is sending a haul, four players and two future second-round picks to the Pistons in the exchange, the teams announced Thursday. The Knicks will acquire Evan Fournier, Malachi Flynn, defensive specialist Quentin Grimes and Ryan Arcidiacono, along with cash considerations.

Philadelphia made perhaps the first splash of trade deadline day when it reportedly agreed to a swap with the Indiana Pacers for Buddy Hield. This move for Cameron Payne will provide Philadelphia with a solid, veteran backup after it traded off Beverley.
