Mavericks Doncic Out At Least a Week with Wrist Strain – In a short-term blow for the team that represented the Western Conference Dallas Mavericks, star Luka Doncic is going to miss some time. According to NBA reporter Marc Stein of The Stein Line, Doncic has reportedly suffered a wrist injury and will be on the shelf for an undetermined amount of time.
There are no concrete details on the nature of Doncic’s injury. He will be reevaluated in one week, which is the earliest he could return to the hardwood. In the meantime, the 8-7 Mavericks will have to go through a murderer’s row, playing the Denver Nuggets, Miami Heat, Atlanta Hawks and New York Knicks without him.
Doncic, 25, has been playing through pain for the last two weeks. Since November 8, he has been nursing a left groin strain, which he sustained while battling his nemesis the Phoenix Suns. Adding more insult to injury, just five days later, he banged up his right knee, which has also been nagging him. Even with the injuries starting to mount, he has toughed it out, missing only one game this season: the Mavs’ win against Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Oklahoma City Thunder on November 17.
Doncic is off to a MVP-level start and is averaging 28.2 points, 7.8 rebounds and 7.8 assists per game this season.
According to ESPN, Doncic is already attacking this injury full force and started rehabbing.

Sixers George Exits Game After Hyperextending Left Knee – The Philadelphia 76ers finally got to see their big three of Joel Embiid, Paul George and Tyrese Maxey on the court together for the first time this season on Wednesday night against the Memphis Grizzlies. It lasted for approximately one half.
George departed the Sixers’ game against the Grizzlies, a 117-111 loss, with a left knee hyperextension and did not return, according ESPN’s senior NBA insider Shams Charania. The knee is the same knee that caused George to miss the first five games of the season due to a bone bruise from a previous hyperextension.
The injury appeared to take place when George landed awkwardly after jumping to defend Grizzlies wing Desmond Bane in the third quarter.
Shortly after George was ruled out, Embiid knocked knees with Grizzlies big man Jaren Jackson Jr. and had a noticeable limp as he headed toward the bench. Fortunately, he fought through the soreness and remained in the game.
George aggravating or re-injuring his knee would only be the latest in a series of setbacks to a miserable and controversial start to the season for the Sixers, who entered Wednesday tied for last with the Washington Wizards in the Eastern Conference with a record of 2-11.
Philadelphia came into the year with championship aspirations and was supposed to be in the upper echelon of East contenders this season after pulling off a trade for George with the Los Angeles Clippers, but injuries have changed those plans altogether and wreaked havoc upon their roster. Both Embiid and George missed time at the start of the season, Embiid to manage a knee ailment and George with the bone bruise.
Then Embiid earned himself a 3-game suspension for shoving Philadelphia Enquire columnist Marcus Hayes for writing something about his injury management he believed was over the line. Then Maxey went down with a right hamstring injury.
All three finally got back on to the court on Wednesday, and the result was another loss and more pain.
