The Batman and Robin takes surrounding Giannis and Khris Middleton are played out.
Deciphering which player is the real superhero and which player is the sidekick, game in and game out, has become exhausting especially when a 2 time MVP is in the mix.
But last night, Milwaukee was led by two Superheroes. Giannis and Khris Middleton scored 66 combined with Middleton accounting for 40. Giannis contributed in more areas besides scoring, grabbing 18 rebounds and dishing out 8 assists.
But it was the block that served as the best play of the game….

Marc Kestecher of ESPN called one of the best blocks we’ve ever seen.
Tayshaun Prince’s all out sprint to block Reggie Miller, Lebron denying Iguodala in Game 7, and now Giannis turning as soon as the lob is thrown and meeting Deandre Ayton at the top of the Square. Those are your best blocks in NBA history.
I’ve watched it 100 times and I’m still not sure how he gets there.
While Giannis continues to dig himself out of a bad playoff reputation that preceded this run, Chris Paul is idling after a hot start.
He looked out of sorts and just flat out bad last night. He scored 10 points, turning the ball over 5 times including a backbreaker at the end of the game. There’s also the fact Chris is battling a hand injury he suffered against the Clippers.
Both injuries and late game turnovers have been the biggest knocks to Chris Paul’s postseason career, that he had avoided in 2021.
If Phoenix can take care of home court advantage or just win 2 more period, the knocks won’t matter. If not, then Giannis will have won not only the Championship, but the legacy tug of war.
